---------- BOOKS AND PAPERS ----------

[Cost: free] The printable ebook, Wavelet Transforms of Drainage from Highly Reactive Geologic Materials, expands on the book below, Spectral Analysis of Drainage, and reveals many new findings, using the more modern mathematical technique of wavelets.  ISBN 978-0-9952149-3-4.

[Cost: free] The printable ebook, Searching for Latent Variables in Minesite Drainage Using Exploratory Factor Analysis, seeks out latent factors significantly affecting full-scale minesite drainages using exploratory factor analysis (EFA).  ISBN 978-0-9952149-2-7.

[Cost: free] The printable ebook, Spectral Analysis of Drainage from Highly Reactive Geologic Materials, contains a novel and unconventional approach for interpreting and understanding the flows and chemistries of full-scale drainages from reactive geologic materials.  ISBN 978-0-9952149-1-0.

[Cost: free] The printable ebook, Minesite Drainage Chemistry: An Introduction, contains basic explanations and examples of mining and minesite-drainage chemistry. This book contains 50 pages of text and graphics, plus dozens of colour photographs.  ISBN 978-0-9952149-0-3.

[Cost: free for PDF] Environmental Geochemistry of Minesite Drainage: Practical Theory and Case Studies (paper and digital versions) is a guidebook, reference book, and textbook containing over 350 pages of practical theory and case studies for assessing, predicting, and controlling drainage chemistry at minesites. This book has been sold to more than 30 countries worldwide!   The original hard-cover paper version has limited availability.

[Cost: free] We at MDAG have compiled our published papers into one database. If you are conducting research and would like to download a copy of one of our publications, go to the MDAG Paper Database.  Please respect copyright laws!

---------- CASE STUDIES ----------

[Cost: free] The online MDAG Case Studies provide lots of scientifically helpful, intriguing, thought-provoking, controversial, and even fun reading!

---------- LIBRARY ----------

[Cost: free] Minesite drainage has been studied for more than a century. Our library catalogue contains more than 2000 papers on minesite drainage and related topics back to 1907. Of course, we also included Agricola's work from 1556!

---------- SPREADSHEETS ----------

[Cost: free] MDAG Silicate NP Model - a 150 kb spreadsheet-based model that provides three primary outputs:
1. (Total) Silicate NP in kg CaCO3 equivalent/tonne based on the sum of each silicate mineral's abundance in a multi-mineral sample, the stoichiometry of each silicate mineral, and its total per-mole capacity to neutralize.
2. The total Rate of Silicate Neutralization in mg CaCO3 equivalent/kg/week based on the sum of the individual neutralization rates from each silicate mineral in a sample reflecting on each mineral's abundance, particle size, and particle-scale pH.
3. Identification of the silicate minerals in a multi-mineral sample accounting for most of its Rate of Silicate Neutralization to calculate Fast-Neutralizing Silicate NP in kg CaCO3 equivalent/tonne.

[Cost: free] Minewall 3 - a 40 MB spreadsheet-based model that simulates open pits and underground mines during operation (active dewatering), during transient flooding after dewatering is stopped, and after a stable water level has been established. The model includes the geochemical effects of the mine walls and of any granular material (like tailings and waste rock) present in or backfilled into the mine.

[Cost: free] The MDAG Dynamic ARD-Onset Simulator (DAOS) - a simplified spreadsheet-based model that simulates the onset, growth, and migration of ARD in a vertical cross-sectional grid containing net-acid-generating and net-acid-neutralizing cells. This is part of MDAG Case Study 48, which also contains DAOS instructions and examples.

[Cost: free] MDAG Grain 3.0 - a spreadsheet for calculating the geometric surface areas of grains within a sample, based on sieve analyses. This is useful in determining, for example, grain-surface-area dependencies of kinetic reaction rates, as discussed in Environmental Geochemistry of Minesite Drainage: Practical Theory and Case Studies and used in the International Kinetic Database.

[Cost: free] MDAG International Kinetic Database (IKD) - a database of summary parameters for many hundreds of kinetic tests (humidity cells, columns, and Minewall stations) from nearly 100 minesites around the world.
